The second monthly edition by Calibreus is available only for the month of August 2023. It was captured with a modded full-spectrum Sony A7RII and a built-in 590nm infrared filter. This image was taken during a cold, foggy day in a clear-cut forest on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I normally find it quite difficult to shoot clear-cut scenes. Typically, the colors and context don't appeal to me with my regular, unmodded camera. But the way the infrared camera brings out colors and transforms a scene into a fantasy makes these normally unappealing scenes quite fascinating to photograph. Combined with that dreamy, foggy look and a darkened sun that shows its full shape in the RAW image, this final photograph to date is one of my favorite infrared images. Once August ends, the minting phase will be closed, and this image will never be available for minting ever again.
