Diary entry for 15.03.2024 in chapter 2. **15.03.2024** **23:30 Basel, Burgweg. Landed** in Basel today. This week was only supposed to be about moving and getting set up. But I've met some people and I'm already working on a project, which is super cool. I think I'll really enjoy my time here. On Wednesday I have a meeting with the head of our department (or class? not sure). Gotta figure our how to do my project and master's thesis simultaneously. on Friday there are these coffee talks at the school where graduates present their work. The artist that I mentioned before who I thought would be interesting for my project will do it on Friday. Guess ill go there, get some insight into his work and then decide if it makes sense to contact him for a studio visit or if I should just leave him alone and enjoy his art without going into depth about it. A lot of people have asked me how Sami felt about me not moving to Schaffhausen anymore. He definitely played a role in the decision that I wasn't happy living so far away from him anymore and wanted to move to Basel instead of Zurich. But when it comes to my studies he always said that he didn't want any influence on what was best for me and would be happy with whatever decision In the end, the right thing happened: He's coming home this weekend and doesn't have to sit on a train for an hour each way, but can take public transport for 15 minutes or walk home in 10 (if he'd ever need that).
