Melody was born to a small family of peasants in a village near the Kingdom. When she was five, her parents were tragically killed in a bandits raid. She was the only one to survive and was taken in by the local innkeeper. It was there that she discovered her singing voice. She would often sing for the guests at the inn and they would give her coins in return. When she was sixteen, she met a man who told her she had the voice of a siren. He said that she could use it to lure ships to their doom and make a fortune. She didn't believe him at first, but when she tried it out, she found that he was right. She started luring ships to wreck on the rocks near her village and looting their cargoes. This went on for years until one day she lured a ship carrying a valuable cargo to its doom. The captain of the ship begged her to spare his crew and offered her a hefty sum of money in return. She agreed and led them safely back to shore. When word got out about what she had done, people started calling her Melody Rivers, the Siren of the Seas. She became famous for her deeds and people would often come from far and wide to hear her sing. Sometimes they would even bring their ships with them so that she could lure them back home safely. She became known as a kind and benevolent siren and people began to admire her greatly. One day, a young prince happened to hear her singing while he was out hunting with his friends. He was immediately enchanted by her voice and decided that he must have her for his bride. He asked his father if he could marry Melody Rivers and after much deliberation, the king agreed. The prince took Melody back to his kingdom where they lived happily ever after. She used her voice only for good from then on and people praised her as being one of the most beautiful women in all the land - both inside and out."
