Queen Eleanor had ruled her kingdom in peace since the day she ascended the throne. But the storm clouds gathering on the horizon signaled that a difficult choice lay ahead.
Early in the morning, as the wind carried the scent of golden wheat across the fields, Eleanor took a deep breath. A queen must protect her people—sometimes with a sword, sometimes with wisdom. She had mastered both.
Today, envoys from the enemy kingdom would arrive, offering her a choice: surrender and abandon her throne, or stand and fight for the freedom of her people.
