Sporting a strawberry top as a hat, he’s upset with his mom for buying him small strawberries instead of the larger, juicier ones he prefers. To him, there’s a world of difference in taste, but she doesn’t seem to understand. Frustrated by her control over his choices, Freaky Bear dreams of growing up and living life on his own terms. Equal parts moody and endearing, he’s a reminder of the struggle for independence and self-expression we all face at some point. --- # [Berry Kim] South Korean artist Berry Kim believes that true happiness comes from embracing one's authentic self and finding value in the overlooked details of everyday life, rather than chasing material success or societal validation. Inspired by objects like clothes, traffic lights, and beer bottles—often forgotten in the rush of modern society—she reimagines them as lively, fashionable characters in her whimsical world, “Berryland.” By giving these objects eyes, mouths, and personalities, Berry Kim brings them to life, celebrating their quiet presence and drawing parallels to her own experiences. A graduate of Kingston University in the U.K., Berry Kim's works have been featured in galleries, art fairs, group shows, and solo exhibitions across Seoul, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and Berlin.
